The ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) tool is highly optimized to extract, transform, and load data from several sources into a data warehouse or a single data repository. The tool can extract data in its native format – unstructured, semi-structured, or structured – transform the data into a format that matches that of the intended target, and finally load it into the data repository. The SAP ETL tool can also integrate different systems and transform various data formats into each other.


The SAP ETL tool moves data from and to the SAP environment and runs checks to identify if the value of a name has been defined as well as clean the data. This works even when the data extracted is outside the application, a unique feature of the SAP ETL tool.

The tool is used for migrating data from SAP or non-SAP sources to target the HANA database through the SAP Data Services. This enables businesses to run data analytics exclusively in the application layer. One of the benefits of the SAP ETL tool is that it can be linked to CDS views or Data Extractors for automating data extraction and extracting incremental and change data or deltas through the OData Services. Additionally, deltas with the initial data are merged automatically. This ensures that the SAP data lake on Snowflake, Redshift, Amazon S3, and Azure Synapse is updated for the real-time SAP ETL tool.
